Catalogs
Catalogs group products for WhatsApp commerce. A catalog can stay local in Socialone or link to a Meta catalog for WhatsApp browsing, product messages, and cart ordering.
One catalog per WhatsApp account
Meta allows only one commerce catalog linked per WhatsApp Business Account (WABA). Linking a new catalog to a WABA automatically unlinks the previous one.
Create or Edit a Catalog
Catalog creation is a three-step flow: Basic Details → Product Selection → Finish.
- Name: required catalog name.
- Description: optional internal description.
- Currency: INR, USD, EUR, GBP, AED, SGD, AUD, or CAD.
- Products: search by product name or retailer ID and filter by product type (physical / digital / service / subscription) or availability status. Each product added creates a per-catalog mapping that can be individually activated or deactivated.
WhatsApp / Meta Linking
- WhatsApp Account: optional. Leave empty for a local-only catalog.
- Meta Catalog: choose a fetched Meta catalog, paste a Meta catalog ID, or create a new catalog directly on Meta from Socialone.
- Catalog vertical: determines the product type on Meta. Supported verticals include Commerce, Flights, Hotels, Home Listings, Vehicles, Ticketed Experiences, Services, Destinations, Home Service Providers, Local Services, and more. Only a commerce vertical catalog works for WhatsApp product and catalog messages. If you link a non-commerce catalog, Socialone auto-detects the mismatch and offers to create a new commerce catalog on Meta.
- Business Manager ID: appears only when Meta requires it for catalog creation.
- Sync from Meta: imports the latest product data from Meta, overwriting existing entries matched by retailer ID. Products removed from Meta are deactivated in the catalog mapping rather than deleted.
- Show on WhatsApp / Hide from WhatsApp: controls storefront icon and catalog browse visibility for the linked WABA.
Per-Catalog Product Availability
Each product in a catalog has an independent active flag and an optional availability override:
- Active / Inactive: a product can be assigned to multiple catalogs and be active in one while hidden in another.
- Availability override: sets a catalog-specific availability status (in stock, out of stock, preorder) without changing the product's global availability. When no override is set, the product's own availability is used.
- Sort order: controls product display sequence within the catalog on WhatsApp.
Sync Behavior
- When you create or update a product, it is automatically pushed to all active catalog mappings.
- When you create or update a catalog-product mapping, only that catalog is synced with Meta.
- Sync from Meta performs a hard overwrite matched on retailer ID. Products on Meta that are no longer in the catalog deactivate their mapping rather than delete the product.
- Shopify product webhooks create or update the product and upsert the catalog mapping automatically.
Common Blockers
- No WhatsApp accounts: connect a WhatsApp account in Settings before linking a catalog to Meta.
- Catalog name required: add a name before moving past step one.
- Catalog not visible on WhatsApp: link it to a WABA and use Show on WhatsApp. Also confirm the catalog vertical is commerce.
- Wrong vertical: if the linked Meta catalog is not a commerce catalog, Socialone will prompt you to create a new one. Non-commerce catalogs cannot send product messages.
- Products missing after Meta sync: products removed on Meta are deactivated rather than deleted. Re-activate them in the catalog if needed.
