OMS Settings

OMS Settings control how each WhatsApp account handles catalogs, shopping carts, shipping address collection, order confirmation, and payment requests. Settings are per WhatsApp account.

Where to Find This

  • Go to Settings → OMS Settings.
  • Select the WhatsApp Account you want to configure.

WhatsApp Account & Commerce

  • Show catalog storefront icon: displays the storefront icon and catalog browse button inside WhatsApp chat.
  • Enable shopping cart: lets customers add products to a cart and send it as an order message.
  • Catalog feature not available: means WhatsApp Commerce is not active for the selected account. Ensure a commerce catalog is linked to this WABA.

Order Flow

  • Manual: staff reviews the order, confirms it, and requests payment manually. Use this for high-value or custom orders that need review.
  • Confirm → Pay: valid orders are auto-confirmed on creation, then a payment request is sent automatically. Reduces staff effort for standard orders.
  • Pay → Confirm: a payment request is sent first. The order auto-confirms only after WhatsApp Pay captures the payment. Use this when prepayment is required.
  • Auto-collect shipping address: automatically asks for a shipping address in WhatsApp for physical product orders after cart checkout.

WhatsApp Pay (UPI)

WhatsApp Pay uses UPI for in-chat payments (currently available for India). Configure these fields before registering with Meta:

  • UPI VPA (Merchant Handle): your registered UPI virtual payment address (e.g., merchant@bankname). Shown to customers as the payee.
  • Merchant Category Code (MCC): 4-digit RBI business category code. Common examples include Grocery Stores (5411), Restaurants (5812), Clothing (5621), Electronics (5734), Pharmacies (5912), Services (7389), and Education (8299). Use the code that best matches your primary business.
  • UPI Purpose Code: payment purpose shown during UPI transaction. Options include general payment, goods purchase, bill payment, and merchant payment.
  • Payment Note: short customer-facing message displayed on the UPI payment screen. Maximum 60 characters.
  • Register with Meta: creates the payment configuration on the selected WhatsApp account using the fields above. Must be done before payment requests can be sent.
  • Remove Payment: deregisters the payment configuration from Meta and disables payment requests for this account.

Importer / Compliance Details

Required by Meta when no commerce catalog is linked to the WABA and goods are being sold:

  • Country of origin: country where goods are manufactured or sourced.
  • Importer name: legal name of the importing business entity.
  • Importer address: address line 1, address line 2, city, zone/state code, and postal code.

Common Blockers

  • No WhatsApp account: connect an active WhatsApp account before configuring OMS settings.
  • Payment registration fails: confirm the UPI VPA is valid and the MCC matches your business type as registered with your bank.
  • Catalog controls not appearing: WhatsApp Commerce must be active for the account. Check that a linked commerce catalog exists.
  • Auto-collect address not triggering: only activates for physical product orders. Digital and service products skip address collection.
